Upstate Mediation Center is honored to announce that it has been awarded a $40,000 grant from the South Carolina Bar Foundation.

Jennifer Olmert, Executive Director of the Upstate Mediation Center, shared that the funding will directly support the organization’s mission of making mediation accessible to everyone, regardless of financial circumstances.

“In the past year, the UMC facilitated more than 700 mediations, helping families and individuals resolve conflicts peacefully and constructively,” said Olmert.  “This critical work is only possible because of the support of partners like the SC Bar Foundation, whose investment offsets the cost of providing free and reduced-fee services.  We are deeply grateful for their commitment to equitable access to justice.”

The South Carolina Bar Foundation promotes justice by funding legal access and education.  Since 1971, the Bar Foundation has awarded more than $60 million to various law-related organizations throughout South Carolina
