2025 PEACEMAKER AWARD NOMINATIONS OPEN

Greenville, SC – The Upstate Mediation Center (UMC) is pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the 2025 Peacemaker Award. This distinguished award recognizes individuals who have made a significant impact in promoting tolerance, building goodwill and understanding, resolving conflicts, and striving for peace within the Upstate community.

UMC invites community members to participate by nominating individuals who embody these values and actively work to foster peace in the region. The recipient of the Peacemaker Award will be honored at UMC’s Peacemaker Celebration in October 2025, and their name will be added to the Peacemaker Bench located in Cleveland Park—a lasting tribute to their dedication.

“We encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the individuals who have dedicated themselves to creating a more peaceful and inclusive community,” said Jennifer Olmert, Executive Director of UMC. “This award is an opportunity to recognize those who inspire positive change and work to resolve conflicts in meaningful ways.”

Since its inception, the Peacemaker Award has honored individuals from diverse backgrounds who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to bridging divides and building stronger, more understanding communities. Previous recipients have included educators, nonprofit leaders, mediators, and community advocates, all of whom have dedicated themselves to fostering peaceful resolutions and dialogue in challenging situations.

Nominations can be submitted online at www.upstatemediation.com through May 31, 2025. For more information or to submit a nomination, please contact UMC at (864) 370-9771 or via email at jennifer@upstatemediation.com.
